BIPA Regular Program will help you become a proficient speaker of Indonesian language as spoken by well-educated Indonesians. The language taught in this program is the standard Indonesian language. This will make it easier for learners to communicate with people throughout Indonesia, regardless of their social or cultural backgrounds.
BIPA Regular Program comprises three levels: BIPA 1, BIPA 2, BIPA 3. The total hours of studying in one level are 250 hours. Classes are held every Monday—Friday, from 08:30 a.m. to 01.00 p.m (GMT+7) for 12—13 weeks. Within one level, learners will be able to acquire 3 sub-levels of language proficiency:
- BIPA 1 (Low Novice, Mid Novice, High Novice) @ 250 Hours
- BIPA 2 (Low Intermediate, Mid Intermediate, High Intermediate) @ 250 jam
- BIPA 3 (Low Advance, Mid Advance, High Advance) @ 250 Hours
By using Indonesian language as the sole means of instruction, BIPA Regular Program encourages the use of direct approach so that the participants will be able to immediately use the Indonesian language and promptly develop their language competence. The program is designed to include the development of speaking, listening, reading skills, and writing skills to permit comprehension of relevant media, including electronic media, newspaper or face‐to‐face conversation. The activities include simulation of situations, supported by authentic visual aids specially designed to facilitate beginning learners.
Learning Objectives:
BIPA 1: Learners are expected to be able to understand, interact in simple ways (asking and answering simple questions), and produce sentences and expressions that are often used as well as related to daily activities, as a way to adapt their new life in Indonesia.
BIPA 2: Learners are expected to be able to understand the important details from texts, interact, produce texts and also describe something (experiences, events, hopes, ambitions) and give a brief reason about topics that are familiar and often have been encountered in life in Indonesia
BIPA 3: Learners are expected to be able to understand main ideas of complex texts and discussions, interact with a good level of fluency and spontaneity, produce clear and detailed texts, and explain various subjects from a certain perspective towards topics discussed.
